As part of an initiative to make Seattle more accessible and welcoming to international visitors, I undertook the project of translating and designing the first Chinese version of the Seattle guide and map. This project was aimed at not only helping tourists navigate the city but also promoting local businesses to tourists particularly from China and Korea.
The translated guide and map were successfully implemented in various strategic locations, including Seattle Airport, ferries, popular tourist attractions, and restaurants. This comprehensive resource became an invaluable tool for visitors, enhancing their travel experience by providing essential information in their native language.
My role in this project involved:
Translation: I translated the entire guide and map into Chinese and Korean, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance to make it user-friendly for international tourists.
Design: I was responsible for the layout and visual design of the guide and map, creating an appealing and intuitive interface that catered to the needs of non-English speaking visitors.
Advertising Coordination: I managed advertisements for over 50 Seattle businesses, integrating them seamlessly into the guide. This not only boosted the visibility of these businesses but also provided tourists with curated recommendations.
Design Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
